OR!?

  • Are you interested in working for yourself full or part time?

If you are located in an area of the US with a large horse population and enough work to keep you going, we would be happy to train you to become a HIGHLY skilled Saddler or Saddle Fitter!

The historic art of saddlery has lost most of the great craftspersons in the US to age and retirement. Many of those people were trained in the UK or Europe to be saddlers thru a long apprenticeship program. But modern education and modern techniques have been integrated into the modern saddlery and we can now train you to be a great crafts person in less time, and with more ability to make money then working as an intern for someone else for years.

The new science of saddle fitting has only come around in the US in the last 25 years or so, prior to that, riders bought whatever saddle and used it on everything they rode. Now the art involves finding exactly the right combination of features in a saddle to make the client and their horses comfortable and able to achieve their goals.

The best place to learn the most up to date techniques and the most modern applications of saddle use and construction is at Mid Atlantic Equine Trade School where you can learn about working with horses and people and saddles or just keeping your horses at home.
